In this article, Robert Britt summarizes a nutritional study lead by Dariush Mozaffarian, MD and Dean of the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. Mozaffarian and his colleagues created a “Food Compass” by applying the latest science on nutrition to examine both the healthy and harmful aspects of more than 8,000 foods and drinks, and ranking them from 1 to 100. The recommendation of the researchers is to aim to eat items ranked at least 70, and avoid those below 30.
