Early in October, Dr. Dilip Sarkar participated in a panel discussion organized by the Embassy of India on “Meditation Traditions of India.” Other panel presentations were given by Dr. Stephen Parker, Dr. Ananda Balayogi, Dr. Tony Nader and Dr. Aparna Ramasway. The Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations invites you to an online celebration of the 6th annual International Yoga Day on June 19, 2020, from 3:00pm to 4:30 pm Eastern Time (US), to be broadcast live on UN WebTV (see poster below).
The first International Day of Yoga was observed around the world on June 21, 2015. A total of 35,985 people participated in person, performing 21 asanas
(yoga postures) for 35 minutes at Rajpath in New Delhi, becoming the largest yoga class ever held, and with the largest number of participating nationalities, at 84.

Dilip Sarkar, M.D., F.A.C.S., C.A.P., and newly re-elected President of IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists), was invited as a guest speaker to the International Conference on Yoga for Body and Beyond as a part of celebrating International Day of Yoga by the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddhi, and Homeopathy), Government of India at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, India. His presentation on “Integrating Yoga in Health Care Delivery System: Yoga Therapy for Body and Beyond” was very well received, with a standing ovation and an award from the Ministry of AYUSH.
